Change At The Top Of Outsourced CIO Firm

Philadelphia-headquartered has appointed Ranji Nagaswami as its new chief executive, replacing co-founder Jonathan Hirtle, who will remain with the firm as executive chairman. Nagaswami has spent most of her almost 30-year career as a senior executive, advisor and strategist in both private and public sectors. From 2010 to 2012, she was chief investment advisor to the administration of mayor Michael Bloomberg for New York City's $150 billion employee retirement systems. She previously served as chief investment officer within the blend strategies team of AllianceBernstein, and before that as CIO of AllianceBernstein Investments. "Ranji Nagaswami is an exceptional leader and an extraordinarily talented investment industry executive; we are thrilled to have her join us as CEO. She brings tremendous additional strength to our executive team as we enter the next phase of our firm's development and growth," said Hirtle. Hirtle Callaghan, which says it is America's first OCIO firm, designs and manages investment programs for family and institutional investors. Founded in 1988, it supervises over $20 billion of family, endowment, foundation, healthcare and pension assets across 46 states.
